Welcome to the New Salem Baptist Church Flames Basketball Teams
The NSBC Flames are a Christian-based sports league. We welcome home schooled boys and girls and those looking to be surrounded by fellow Christians. We are a volunteer based ministry whose focus is to involve students in a positive environment. We encourage personal charcter development, team-building skills and learning the basic skills needed to be successful basketball players.
Our focus is to provide the opportunity for home school students throughout Lincoln County to play in a team sport. Students from private schools and public schools can participate but are not recruited and must play only for one team during the season. All players regardless of how they attend school, must meet academic requirements and participate voluntarily.
Character Matters
Grow athletically and spiritually while building your God given talents. Character gives teams and idividuals the winning edge and will lift teams and individuals to their goals.
People of faith on your team keep the intire team positive and motivated to achieve great things on behalf of a higher calling. People of honesty and integrity build respect and trust, which enables the team to think in sync and act in sync. Peopl who are able to start, preserve and finish a task provide the winning edge of commitment, drive, stamina and extra effort to train hard and play hard.
People of maturity are posed under pressure and come through in clinches. People of superior forces win by confounding the naysayers. People of humility want to win as a team, not hog all the glory. They put the 'team' in teamwork. People with strong work ethic are committed to training hard and playing hard. They provide the 'work' in teamwork.
People who live their lives as positive role models make it worth being on a team. They relfect credit to the entire organization and the entire profession.
